Sparkling Jewellery, Perfect for 21st Birthday

21st birthday is called as ‘coming of age’. Many celebrate this birthday with much fanfare as it marks the transition of one becoming an adult. It means that a person will have more freedom along with more responsibilities and lesser restrictions. Even the law considers a person as a ‘legal adult’ and hence allows one to do things which were not allowed before 21!

The most common family tradition followed to celebrate this occasion is elders giving a piece of jewellery to their daughter on their 21st birthday. This jewellery forms the part of heirloom and is passed on to generations to come, along with buying a new one.

Diamonds and pearls are a favourite for the 21st birthday! But it also depends on your budget. Necklace seems to be the ideal choice as a gift. It could be an elaborate eternity necklace or a pendant necklace. If you want to give something that she can wear everyday then a pendant necklace is perfect. Present her with a delicate gold chain and select a diamond and gold pendant that suits her personality. Pendant could be in the design of her initial or you can also include her birthstone. Other popular pendant designs include heart, angel, butterfly and drop.

Another great gift idea is to give a pair earrings. There is a wide range of earrings design, right from the simple ones to the more sophisticated ones. For someone who has a very simple taste in jewellery would appreciate diamond/gold stud earrings. The shape could be round or square, doesn’t matter! But if you are looking at giving something that she can wear on formal events and special occasions then chandelier earrings are a great option.

Give her something that will make her 21st birthday the most memorable and special one!

Carat on a carrot!

What are the chances of finding a lost wedding ring after 16 years that too wrapped around a carrot? Pretty less! But there are lucky or unlucky few, who witness the most unbelievable and dramatic things in their lifetime.

One such person is a Swedish woman, Lena Paahlsson.

Lena Paahlsson and her husband Ola live on a farm near Mora in central Sweden with their family. It was like any other Christmas baking session for this family, back in 1995. Until Lena lost her wedding ring!
Lena used to wear a white gold band studded with seven small diamonds. She herself had designed the wedding ring. She had removed her ring and kept it on the kitchen counter. Little did she know that she is going to soon, lose it.

A hysterical search began soon after they realised that the wedding ring is missing. The tiles of the floor were also removed during renovations with the hope of finding the ring. But they just couldn’t find it. And ultimately Lena lost all hope of finding her precious wedding ring.

Cut-to 16 years later! Paahlsson was gathering carrots from the family vegetable farm. She was about to throw away a finger-sized carrot until she spotted something weird growing around it. A close look at it revealed that it was her lost white gold and diamond wedding ring!

“Our daughter Anna was at home at the time and she heard an almighty scream from the garden,” Ola Paahlsson said explaining his wife’s first reaction after finding the ring. The ring no longer fits her but it is in perfect condition and Lena can’t wait to resize it to be able to wear it again. She said, “Now that I have found the ring again, I want to be able to use it”. The couple thinks that the ring could have been lost in vegetable peelings that were turned into compost and from there it found its way to the farm.
